Paramedic-staffed advanced life support (ALS) ambulances provide advanced care on every call. For district residents, whatever insurance does not cover is written off.

Attorneys needing medical and billing records must submit a signed Patient Authorization Form along with a check or money order for $6.50, made payable to the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District, 661 St. Ferdinand St., Florissant, MO 63031. Is the ambulance free for district residents?

If you are a resident of the fire district, your insurance and/or Medicare is billed for ambulance service, and any remaining balance is written off by the District. Residents have no out-of-pocket expense for using the ambulance service.

Patient privacy is very important to the District. Please review our Privacy Policy (effective April 14, 2003).

Frequently asked questions

Will the ambulance take me to a hospital of my choice?

Effective March 11, 2014, the District transports district residents who call 911 for ambulance transport to the following hospital emergency departments: Christian Hospital Northwest HealthCare, SSM DePaul Health Center, Mercy Hospital of St. Louis, and Missouri Baptist Medical Center. In special circumstances, and especially for patients with special needs, patients may be taken to a hospital better suited to their needs, such as a children's or teaching hospital. Questions? Is ambulance service free if I'm a resident?
