
Stephen Tuley began his Emergency Service career as an EMT in 1988 with Christian Hospital Emergency Medical Services. He was promoted to Paramedic four years later after completing the paramedic program at East Central College.
He joined the City of University City Fire Department as a firefighter paramedic in 1992. He became a member of the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District in 2000.
Steve’s passion for child safety led him to become a child passenger safety technician and instructor. He has performed over 3000 child safety seat checks at the firehouse and community events.
Steve holds Missouri State certifications for Fire Officer I, Fire Investigator, Fire Inspector II, and Fire Instructor I.
In 2021 Steve was promoted to full-time Fire Inspector for the FVFPD.
Steve attended a variety of classes at the National Fire Academy including Fire Investigation Fundamentals, Interview and Courtroom Testimony, and Electrical Fires. He has also completed courses for Water-Based Fire Protection Plans Review, and Plans Review for Fire and Life Safety.
Following Fire Marshal Robinson’s retirement in 2026, Steve was promoted to Fire Marshal in March of 2026.
Steve is a member of IAFF Local 2665, Muddy River FOOLS, International Association of Arson Investigators, and The Metropolitan Fire Marshals Association.
